China: love versus persecution

China: love versus persecution

The Jesus-like pattern of the Rain Covenant Church.

In 2021, Dai Zhichao of Rain Covenant Home Church led the small group and became a prominent figure in the church in a short period of time. His growth in faith in the church was in line with a greater goal that he and his family were striving for, and that goal was none other than the expansion of God's kingdom.

He and his family were constantly persecuted during the last year for their continuous activities in the cause of preaching the message of salvation. Plainclothes officers repeatedly attacked their residences and destroyed their property and personal belongings.

As of September 2022, the district security authorities placed Dai under full surveillance and house arrest. They forbade him from leaving, even taking out the trash or getting a covid test. Only Dai's family members were allowed to leave the house.

For this purpose, the security authorities appointed young guards to constantly monitor Dai and his family around the clock. The guards had to continue their constant care in freezing temperatures and without proper clothing for the season.

Although these bodyguards are tools of the Chinese Communist Party, they were not mistreated by the church members. Instead, the church members, in a unique act, sent the guards hot water, clothes and blankets. Their intention was not to help the persecutors, but instead, the church members tried to meet their basic needs by bringing clothes and warm food and introducing them to a different view of life.

Even if none of these young guards could accept Christ, the Christians of the Rain Covenant Home Church showed them a true picture of Jesus Christ.

After learning about this, the local Chinese Communist Party authorities quickly transferred new guards.

Many stories of Chinese Christians can be an inspiration to those living in other countries and in Jaffa. The model of the covenant church is what Christ came to spread among us.
