Situation of Yemeni children at the beginning of the year.
17 children just in January were killed during Yemen's civil war, according to a new report released by UNICEF.
Ted chaiban, UNICEF's Middle East and North Africa director, says the death toll in Yemen is higher this month, but according to official reports, 17 children have been killed so far this month.
He also noted that civilians and children and their infrastructure and livelihood facilities should not be the target of attacks by the two sides, however, so far, children and defenseless civilians have suffered the most.
More than 10,000 children have been killed and injured since the start of the war in Yemen, according to figures released by UNICEF.
