Nigerian Christians Ignored by Media
In another heartbreaking incident, Christian villages in northern Nigeria faced a brutal assault by extremist Islamists. Reports from local news agencies confirm the attack on the village of Tse Abir Azer, resulting in numerous casualties among Christians. Tragically, Reverend Kingsley Orshas lost his life after sustaining severe injuries in the assault.
Leaders like Dennis Utsa from the Kadarko region corroborate the attack by radical Fulani Islamists, which claimed the lives of a priest and four other Christians. Furthermore, these terrorists targeted a Christian refugee camp, causing additional injuries.
According to Open Doors World Organization, from October 1, 2022, to September 30, 2023, over 4,000 Christians lost their lives due to religious persecution, with thousands more kidnapped. Additionally, hundreds of attacks on churches and Christian properties have been recorded.
Nigeria, with a population of 206 million, struggles with religious tensions, with approximately half the population Muslim and 40% Christian. The ongoing attacks by extremist Islamists on Christians continue to pose a significant threat, aiming to sow seeds of religious conflict in the country.
