Children and lack of food security.
More than a third of Uganda's entire population lives below the poverty line. Children are the main victims of this deplorable economic situation. Their families, especially in remote areas, cannot guarantee their health or well-being.
Some children are sent to live in cities, thinking that there may be more opportunities for them to live in urban areas, but they often live on the streets.
Other basic rights of children are based on their living conditions. Access to education, for example, is a privilege that only the luckiest children enjoy.
Ugandan children suffer from malnutrition. The northeastern part of the country is very dry, and the most affected area in this regard. The land does not have the capacity to produce enough food. As a result, food shortages are a common problem.
Malnutrition among children has a serious impact on their health. Some die from it, while others show deficiencies that can lead to serious illness. Malnutrition can have detrimental effects, sometimes felt throughout life.
The AVC Father's Heart media team has received reports from the Waikisu area of Uganda that a large number of children are living in miserable living conditions. They do not have access to the food they need daily. According to residents, they are not able to meet the minimum food needs of these children.
