Afghans return to their provinces at the same time as the cold season and lack of facilities.
Return of Afghan refugees to their provinces
With the onset of the cold season and the lack of facilities to meet the essential needs of internally displaced persons, the Taliban have begun the process of returning them to their provinces.
Abdul Matin Ahmadzai, head of the Taliban's Ministry of Refugees, said the process of repatriating internally displaced people who had come to Kabul from other areas due to the conflict had begun in the main provinces where they were staying.
Ahmadzai told the Associated Press that the Taliban government was unable to help the displaced, so it began the process of repatriating them and called on NGOs and charities to cooperate.
As a result of the conflict, 1.3 million Afghans have been displaced in recent months and more than 1,000 displaced families have been repatriated, according to the report.
According to the World Food Program, there are currently 14 million Afghans facing "severe food insecurity" and only 5% of the country's 38 million people have access to adequate, quality food at 3 meals a day.
The World Food Program (WFP) has recently announced that about 50 percent of Afghans are missing at least one meal.
