Discovering traces of the second temple destruction

Another confirmation of Bible history.

The Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA), a government body responsible for the excavation and preservation of antiquities, announced the discovery of stones believed to have been used to bring down the walls of Jerusalem during the siege in 70 AD.

During this excavation, hundreds of ballista stones of different sizes were discovered, which, according to experts, were used by a device called "complex stone throwing machines" from distances of more than 400 yards.

According to experts, smaller stones used by infantry vehicles and catapults were also among the Roman arsenals that have been exposed to this day. Spears, swords and arrowheads were also found in the excavations.

These stones are believed to have been used during the violent four-month siege that led to the destruction of the Temple and the eventual fall of Jerusalem.

In addition to previous finds of arrowheads and stone ballista balls on the main street leading to the Temple, other artifacts from the Second Temple period have been recovered in recent years, including a 2,000-year-old Jewish ritual bath and a road leading from the city gates and The pool of Siloam led to the temple, where it is believed that Jesus Christ entered the temple.

The period of the Second Temple began in 516 BC. AD 70, when, in a historic battle, the Roman army led by General Titus besieged Jerusalem, destroying the Temple following a four-month effort to quell the Jewish revolt that had begun four years earlier.

Jesus prophesied the destruction of the Second Temple in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke.
