Mahsa (Zhina) Amini, a symbol of civil freedom

The latest reports of recent unrest in Iran

On Friday, September 16, the death of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old girl who came to Tehran with her family from Saqqez and was arrested by the morality police, was confirmed by her relatives.

Mahsa, who according to her family was called Zhina at home, was the eldest child of a family of six who had just been accepted to Urmia University.

On Tuesday, 13 September, around 6 o'clock in the evening, on Shahid Haqqani highway in Tehran, while she was with her brother, she was arrested by morality police and two hours later she was admitted to Kasra hospital.

Two days after the brain death of Zhina Amini and the release of photos and videos of her lying lifeless in a hospital bed, many medical experts said that since Meahsa's ear showed signs of bleeding, it was probably a heavy blow. It entered hrer head and a stroke cannot be the reason for his coma. The evidence indicated that Zhina died due to beatings and blows.

Many politicians, well-known faces of culture, art, and sports, and a large group of human rights activists, along with countless users of social networks, have reacted to the death of Zhina Amini and demanded accountability from the authorities.

The death of Zhina Amini led to public anger and a nationwide uprising of the Iranian people, which led to street clashes between protesters and government forces. According to reports received from popular and unofficial sources inside Iran, at least 25 people have been killed in the protests so far.

We pray together and declare the spirit of anger and violence invalid. We ask God to grant wisdom to the protestors and the people. God, cool the hands and firearms of the soldiers against the defenseless people and give them wisdom and a kind heart so that this spirit of violence and bloodshed may become a bridge for freedom under the shadow of your holy divinity and with the guidance of your men and women. . We ask in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
