Estimated millions of displaced people without resources and shelter.
The war, the attack on biological resources such as cattle and livestock and the destruction of people's property have led to the displacement of thousands of people in South Sudan.
About 5,000 internally displaced people, including women and children, have arrived in Pibor city after fleeing from the conflict areas of Gomorak and Lekwangole.
According to reports, about 30,000 people were forced to leave their homes following the recent violent clashes by armed elements in Pibor region.
The ongoing conflict has had an adverse effect on humanitarian operations in South Sudan, creating new gaps in the delivery of aid to those in need, effectively halting these operations.
The people and especially the vulnerable groups in South Sudan continue to suffer from the combined effects of years of social and political instability, food insecurity and shocks related to climate change such as floods.
Estimates show that 9.4 million people will need humanitarian assistance and protection in 2023, a significant increase compared to 8.9 million in 2022.
It is also estimated that 2.8 million people face physical violence and need urgent protection and treatment.
In total, the current situation in South Sudan has affected more than 2 million people who are unable to return to their homes.
