Snow and cold lurking in the homeless.
Civilians fleeing attacks by Bashar al-Assad's regime have taken refuge in makeshift tents in the northwestern Syrian province of Idlib, forced to burn their clothes due to harsh winter conditions and staying warm in the cold night.
While snowfall and severe cold have disrupted the lives of all Adlabi tent dwellers, strong winds have destroyed many tents.
In addition to poverty and difficult living conditions, these Syrian families have to burn plastic, old shoes and pieces of wood to protect themselves and their children from the winter cold.
Many of these families, who can not afford to buy fuel at temperatures below 5 degrees Celsius, burn their clothes to keep their tents warm.
One of the the Syrian citizen who was forced to flee his hometown in the western suburbs of Hama eight years ago, told Anatolia that the tents of more than 50 families had been destroyed by heavy snowfall. Roads are also closed due to snowfall and it is not possible to transport patients to hospitals. Another Syrian citizen said: "Our tent was also destroyed and we could not sleep at night due to the cold."
More than 1,800 civilians have been killed in attacks by the Assad regime and its supporters on Idlib since the Sochi ceasefire agreement.
About 2 million civilians have been forced to flee their homes following attacks by Assad regime forces 2017-2020.
