Greece rescued 30 migrants.
According to news reports, the Greek Coast Guard announced that it rescued 30 migrants, all men, from the waters between Rhodes and Crete during air and sea rescue operations.
The media also reported, quoting Greek officials, that the survivors were from Afghanistan, Iraq and Iran.
The migrant boat had departed from Antalya, located on the southern coast of Turkey.
Rescuers confirmed the voyage started with 80 people on board - so 50 people are still missing, news media quoted a Greek coast guard press official as saying.
Since the beginning of the year, according to the statistics of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, more than 60 people have lost their lives in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Crossing the Aegean Sea between the Greek islands and the Turkish coast is extremely dangerous and kills many migrants and refugees who travel by ordinary boats hoping to reach Europe.
According to IOM, the last shipwreck in the Aegean Sea, which occurred on June 19, claimed eight lives on the island of Mykonos.
According to the report of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, 70,325 migrants have managed to reach Europe so far.
