Doznens of christian children abducted.
Reports emerging from Ekiti State suggest a chilling link between the abduction of several schoolchildren, their head teacher, and a driver, and the activities of a Fulani Islamist group, according to informed sources disclosed to Peoples Gazette on Monday.
The victims, who are students of Apostolic Faith School, were forcefully taken by armed assailants believed to be associated with the said group, shortly after the conclusion of their school day in Emure, Ekiti State, sources close to the incident revealed.
In the wake of this shocking development, fear and uncertainty have gripped the community, compelling residents to urgently appeal to security agencies for enhanced vigilance and protection against the escalating threat posed by the Fulani Islamist group.
This abduction unfolds against a backdrop of heightened insecurity, further underscored by the recent brutal killings of two traditional rulers in the state, purportedly at the hands of the same militant group.
The victims, identified as Elesun of Esun-Ekiti, David Babatunde, and Onimojo of Imojo-Ekiti, Ogunsakin Olushola, fell victim to assailants believed to be affiliated with the Fulani Islamist group during a deadly ambush on their vehicle. Their lifeless bodies were discovered along a remote bush path before being retrieved by a joint effort involving security operatives and local vigilante groups.
