The increasing population of children in need of social support

Children are the biggest victims of recent crises.

The International Labor Organization and UNICEF announced in a joint report that the number of children without social protection is increasing.

According to this report, the population of children who are exposed to poverty, hunger, and discrimination increases dramatically every year.

According to this report, children live in extreme poverty twice as often as adults.
Approximately 356 million children worldwide live with a basket of goods for less than two dollars.

Also, this report states that one billion children live in multi-dimensional poverty. Based on the data analysis of this report, multidimensional poverty means a lack of simultaneous access to education, housing, nutrition, health, and sanitary water.

Among the influential factors, Covid-19 alone has caused a 15% increase in children in need of social support.

War and climate change are other very influential factors in increasing the population of needy children, especially in crisis and poor countries.
