Persecution of Christians in China

Prayer request for imprisoned pastor.

On February 19, 2022, the wife of Preacher Geng Zejun from Panshi Church in Huinong District, Shizuishan City,  sent a letter to asked the members of the  Panshi church to pray for the imprisoned pastor Geng Zejun and, the other five church members.

on Sunday, December 5, 2021, around 2:30 p.m, police and religious bureau attacked the Panshi Church and pastor along with five church members were arrested by the State Security Bureau and  Public Security Bureau of Huinong District. They were first detained in administrative detention for 10 days. The next day, church pastor Geng Jun was sentenced to 15 months of administrative detention for the crime of "disturbing social order." 

 Public Security Bureau of Huinong District on December 5, 2021, stated: "It is now found that since September 2021, there are many illegal Christian gatherings in rural areas. The behavior of Geng Zejun seriously disturbed the social order." 

In the letter, Preacher Geng's wife stated that she did not think that Christian gatherings were illegal, and asked all christian sisters and brothers to pray for them, asking God's justice to come.

China has imposed severe new restrictions on social rights, the press, and the right to freedom of expression in recent years, and the Chinese Communist Party is doing so step by step in restricting religious freedom, especially for Christians.
