Two years in prison for an Iranian Ex-Muslim Christian

Intensification of Islamic regime pressures against churches.

Following the persecution of Christian new believers by the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, another Ex-Muslim Christian was sent to prison to endure his imprisonment.

According to the website of Article 18, Fariba Dalir, went to Evin Prison on Saturday, April 17, 1401, to serve a two-year sentence.

Ms. Dalir has been sentenced to prison for her Christian beliefs and for "acting against national security by forming and running an evangelical Christian church."

Ms. Dalir was arrested on July 19, 2021 in hair salon. Ms. Dalir's wife, who was her fiance at the time of her arrest, was also detained separately, along with another unidentified new believer. Earlier, three other women, including a 17-year-old girl, were detained at their home on July 17. Their identities have not been revealed.

The government of the Islamic Republic of Iran closes Persian-speaking churches and persecutes them by attacking Christian churches and homes.

"Violations of the rights of religious minorities" in Iran have been the subject of UN resolutions and reports by human rights organizations in recent years, and Javid Rahman, the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Iran, in his most recent report to the Human Rights Council in Geneva, accused the authorities of the Islamic Republic for discriminating against and violating the rights of religious minorities, including Christians, Baha'is, Sunni Muslims, and Gonabadi Dervishes.

Recently, a campaign was launched at the initiative of a group of imprisoned Christian, entitled "The Church is the right of all Christians" and at least 33 churches have so far supported the campaign.

According to the latest report of the Christian organization "Open Doors", Iran is the ninth "anti-Christian" country in the world.
