Awaiting a humanitarian catastrophe.
MSF has suspended its activities among refugees and asylum seekers on the Polish-Belarusian border.MSF officially announced on its website, after they pushed back by Polish border police.
Over the past few days, MSF has left the area because the Polish border police are blocking medical aid from reaching helpless refugees at the border.
Many refugees, mostly from Middle Eastern countries, have been caught in the harsh winter cold.
They have no way to enter Europe and no way back, because they have been driven out by both Belarus and Poland.
Over the past six months, the crisis on the Polish border has resulted in the deaths of 22 asylum seekers.
Lack of access to shelter and food aid this season could be a humanitarian catastrophe in the area.
